With over 116, 419 live streamers and stands packed, it’s safe to say Maritime Pro Stock Tour’s 15th Anniversary has left its mark on Scotia Speedworld this past Saturday!
Before the main event, some of our customers got to get a feel for what it’d be like to race like the pros…or atleast be on the same track as the pros during Nova Truck Centres Truck Parade. Thanks to all our loyal customers for showing their support and coming out to the track!
Event Highlights
Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia captured his first career victory on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour after taking the lead for the final time with 11 laps remaining of the Nova Truck Centres 150 at Scotia Speedworld on Saturday night. Butcher held off a hard charging Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) and Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) after two yellows in the final 30 laps closed up the field. Marty Prevost (Fall River, NS) and Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) completed the top five in the Nova Truck Centres 150. After leading the most laps and gaining 10 bonus points Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) took the championship point lead from Blenkhorn.
Blenkhorn set the tone for the day by laying down a 14.295 second hot lap in Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials. Chisholm starting the Nova Truck Centres 150 on the pole after crossing the line first in the King Freight Dash for Cash, while the remainder of the field was set through the Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races which were won by Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) and DJ Casey (Prospect, NS). Joel Hickox (Charlottetown, PE) picked up his second consecutive Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race award after finishing 14th in the Nova Truck Centres 150.
Fans were treated to three of Scotia Speedworld’s Weekly Racing Series divisions prior to the Nova Truck Centres 150. Deven Smith (Lakeside, NS) won the Chickenburger Lightning division, Jason Fenton (Eastern Passage, NS) won the Coors Light Truck division, and Dave Matthews (Kennetcook, NS) won the Chickenburger Thunder division.
